Each accepted Host Family must agree to adhere to the Host Family Agreement, which stipulates that:

·        The number of hours the Au Pair provides childcare be limited to no more than 45 hours per week extending over no more than 10mhours of childcare per day

·        The Host Family is required to pay the Aupair a minimum of $139.05 per week on a mutually agreed upon day (This weekly payment is referred to as a stipend. This amount may be increased at some point in the future as it is calculated according to U.S. government wage laws.)

·        The Aupair be allowed one half days off each week, and one complete week end off each month (from Friday evening to Monday morning)

·        The Host Family give the Au Pair, in addition to weekly time off, a minimum of two weeks paid vacation time during the one year exchange

·        The Host Family provide the Aupair with tuition and fees of up to $500 per year for enrolment in appropriate coursework to fulfil his/her educational requirement

·        Families participate in one Aupair USA sponsored "Family Day Conference" annually,

·        At least one Host Parent or other responsible adult remain at home with the Aupair during his/her first three days with the family to help in training  and adapting the Aupair to his/her childcare responsibilities, his/her new home and to his/her new community,

·        Agree to maintain monthly contact with the Local Co-ordinator

·        Prepare a schedule to present to the Aupair upon his/her arrival which outlines the days and hours childcare is to be provided

·        Agree to have a parent or responsible adult in the home if a child is less than three months of age.
